What I do as a marketing coach

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

Here’s a story of what I do with business storytelling as a marketing coach. It was a lot harder to write this for myself than it is to write stories with clients. One of the benefits I provide to clients is my outside perspective and collaboration, and I don’t have as much perspective with myself!

So this draft isn’t as good as my work with clients, it needs to be simplified and made shorter, but here’s a peek at what I do. It’s a bit more salesman than most narratives, and I’ve written it close to how I speak. This narrative can be used as talking points when someone asks what I do, as a one-minute commercial when I present to groups, or as a half-page write-up:

Want that compelling marketing message to grow your business? Tell your story! Fill your customers’ needs to increase sales and profits. You have the answers and I ask you questions to shape the story of what you do.

Brainstorming with a client who was caught up in the day-to-day of his business, we showed the benefits of his products to customers in a way that excited and satisfied him so much he actually jumped out of his chair and shouted, “I’m having fun!” We made his services more compelling. Sales and profits increased. When another client saw that a small change made to his website turned lots more visitors into customers for free, he realized the huge amount he’d save on customer service calls and grinned, “These extra sales are better than free!”

As a marketing coach, I uncover how to communicate the unique reasons your customers work with you as you develop business in directions that deeply satisfy and fulfill you.

Write your compelling story! Grow your business success through a narrative, commercial, brochure, vision statement or website. Call Alex at 1-347-983-0087 now.
