As if it already happened

Tonight I rushed to the 33rd Street post office to mail a letter.  It’s for a travel grant.  Anyway, I got to the post office and hear someone say the name of the grant.  Five other people were mailing their applications for the grant!

“Where are you going?” one asked me.

The question stunned me.  My first thought was, “To mail this letter.”  Then I realized she was asking where I was traveling.  “Bhutan,” I said.  A wave of peace and joy washed over me, as if it had already happened.

I love talking about things as if they’ve already happened.

Anyone want to make a game out of it?  We can call it, “As if it already happened.”

You talk about things as if they already happened.  Other players ask you questions.  “And what did you like about it?”  “What surprised you?”  “What did you discover?”  “How long were you there?”

A nice way to plan for something and get specific about all the details, as if it already happened.
