Conversation on the way to lunch
Monday, November 12th, 2007San Francisco, Day 1, 1PM-2PM
I was asked some questions by a coworker as we walked along the street to lunch.

How did you get involved with what you’re doing now?
I was at a company that sold TV’s over the internet. I was doing strategic planning and marketing, but I couldn’t get anything done. To do anything, I needed to work with folks in other departments. So I put together teams and we got stuff done.
And you figured, if I can do it here, I can do it anywhere?
Yes. And what was best about it was, once people saw what the teams were doing, they said, “I want to be on a team myself.” So they started their own teams, and people could be on as many teams, working on as many projects as they wanted.
